In the previous 12 month period well over 100 trailers have been stolen in the South Brisbane District from both business premises and residential properties. The majority of these thefts have occurred in the Moorooka and Upper Mount Gravatt areas. Although all trailer types have been targeted, more recently, unsecure domestic box trailers parked on roads or in residential properties have been taken.
Trailer security measures provide the best criminal deterrent and include:
Installation of a wheel locking device
Installation of a locking device over the ball connection of the trailer
Where possible secure the trailer away behind locked gates
