Unit residents in the Sunnybank area are being urged to check that their garage doors are down and properly locked and secured. Over the past two weeks thieves are targeting unit complexes and forcing garage doors to access unlocked vehicles and gain entry to units.
Residents are leaving their vehicles containing valuable property items unlocked.
Internal doors are also being left unlocked or not fitted with adequate locks allowing thieves easy access to their units.
Police are reminding residents to check over their home security and ensure all locks are maintained and in good working order.
If internal doors between the garage and main living areas do not have a lock then please consider installing appropriate locks.
Please consider the following tips:
Don’t leave the garage door remote or valuables in your vehicle. If a offender breaks in to your car and steal the remote he has a way into your home.
Invest in a keychain remote
