Representatives from the South Brisbane District’s Police Liaison Unit were honoured to be part of the inaugural MDA, Somali Community Association and Brisbane City Council Family Fun Day at the Spanish Centre, Acacia Ridge.
Liaison Officers Hamza Shale, Nasra Aden and Yen Nguyen alongside Senior Officers Loc Tran and Mary Kenyi had the chance to say welcome to our new neighbours from Eritrea, Ethiopia, India, Liberia, Somalia and Sudan.
Over April 7 and 8, more than 1000 attendees had the opportunity to learn more about the role of the PLO’s and how we as can assist the local community, as well as receiving important information on personal and home safety and how to make the most of living in our great community.
Many thanks to all the teams who competed in football tournament as part of the event. Congratulations to the Somali Community Association of Queensland for claiming their hard earned victory.
