Did you know that an offender can break into your home by cutting the fly screen near the locking mechanism or burning a hole through the finder guard on your security screen to reach through and unlock the snib if the door has not been key locked? A number of house break ins also occur through unlocked doors and windows.
You can prevent thieves from entering your house by key locking your windows and doors. Use security screens but ensure they are key locked to prevent an offender from being able to reach through and unlock the snib.
To reduce the chances of becoming a victim of burglary:
Lock your windows, doors and garage
Lock internal doors from the garage into the house
Install key locks or security grills on windows and deadlocks on doors
Ensure security screens are key locked
Do not leave keys in locks on windows and doors
DO NOT leave car keys or valuables
