This year White Ribbon Day on Saturday, November 25 was supported at the Gabba during the Ashes Test. With thanks to Cricket Australia and Brendan Wild from Queensland Cricket, we were able to promote the need for our community to be strong and to speak up against domestic and family violence.
We had all police staff at the venue wearing white ribbons for the day and we are claiming the biggest White Ribbon activation in Australia on the day with a full house.
Thanks to Cricket Australia, a series of community messages were displayed on the massive Gabba scoreboards. A big thanks also to Michael Clarke and Michael Slater from the Cricket Show who wore the white ribbons and acknowledged the importance of the event.
