The Taiwanese Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation Gold Coast have donated over a hundred vegetarian meals, cakes and sweets to the men and women of the Upper Mount Gravatt Police Station during their visit on Monday, May 25.
The initiative is part of their Supporting Emergency Frontline Workers campaign and was coordinated by Senior Police Liaison Officer (SPLO) Li-Shan Huang.
SPLO Huang said Tzu Chi also does a similar program in Taiwan.
“It’s a small token of their appreciation and I’m sure many of our officers will appreciate the chance to meet local leaders and share a healthy meal together,” SOLO Huang said.
It was great to meet and chat with the foundation members
Station Client Officer Estelle Gourlay said the meals were delicious.
“It was such a nice surprise and very much appreciated.”
South Brisbane District Inspector Michael Dowdy said that this gesture of goodwill truly showcases the working relationship and support between our diverse faith communities
