The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred at Eight Mile Plains this morning.
Initial investigations indicate at 9.40am a Honda Civic travelling north in the southbound lanes of Logan Road collided with a Hyundai sedan travelling north on Logan Road as it attempted to turn right near Levington Road onto the Gateway Motorway.
The impact caused the Hyundai to then hit a dual-cab utility.
The driver and sole occupant of the Hyundai, a 22-year-old man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The 72-year-old female driver of the Honda was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.
The occupants of the utility were treated at the scene.
Police would like to thank the members of the public who have already provided dashcam footage of the incident.
Police continue their appeal for any other motorists who may have dashcam footage of the incident to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
