In the past week, there has been a series of unlawful entries into motor vehicles in and around Annerley and Fairfield areas.
These offences have occurred predominately during the night. Unfortunately, they have also occurred predominately via unlocked doors.
Property items targeted include: cash, bags and contents, debit/credit cards and personal items.
There have also been three reported instances of registration plates being removed.
When you leave your vehicle unattended please consider the following:
Always lock your vehicle, including the boot and sunroof and remember to fully close the windows.
Remove or place out of sight, all valuable and personal documents.
Park you vehicle in a well-lit and highly visible areas, where possible.
Always remove keys from the ignition, even if only for a minute.
Don’t hide spare keys on the vehicle – thieves know where to look.
Consider a car alarm, immobiliser, ignition shield, steering lock or GPS tracker.
Use lockable devices – such as lockable fuel caps, wheel nuts, spare
