Rail Safety Orientation Day in Brisbane: South Brisbane District Police Liaison Officers were on hand to assist over 40 new migrant students from Milpera State High School to learn about Brisbane’s Rail and Public Transport network; meet with professional drivers and have the opportunity practice the etiquette involved with using these services in public.
This joint initiative was organised between staff from Milpera, Queensland Rail and the Queensland Police Service and aimed to improve student safety and their confidence.
“Using Brisbane’s Rail Network is a great way to get around the River City,” PLO Yen Nguyen said.
“It is incredibly important that everyone learns their rights and responsibilities when using public transport, so that we can all be safe, confident and on time.”
Many thanks to everyone involved for their ongoing support for this initiative.
