The Queensland Police Service says no to domestic and family violence this May and every day

Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month is well underway, with a number of events already taken place, and many more to come.
Candle lighting vigils were held around the state on Wednesday, May 1, in remembrance of the lives lost to domestic and family violence and to mark the beginning of Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month.
In Brisbane, a candle lighting vigil took place at the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in the open-air amphitheatre, hosted by Kay McGrath, and is just one of many domestic violence related events continuing to occur over the duration of this month.
Commissioner Ian Stewart joined Queensland Police Service members from across the state at the vigil in a show of Queensland Police Service commitment to raising awareness of and preventing domestic and family violence in our community.
Attendees heard moving personal stories of strength, courage and determination from an array of guest speakers.
