Stay awake, stay alert and stay alive this Queensland Road Safety Week

This morning, South Brisbane Police and emergency services took the opportunity to meet with locals at the Upper Mount Gravatt Showgrounds as part of Queensland Road Safety Week.
This mornings message was Fatigue, a factor which has been identified as one of the Fatal Five contributing factors towards traffic crashes on our roads.
Children and parents turned out in droves and were treated to a visit by POLAIR; the QPS Helicopter. Officers from POLAIR (tactical flight officers) flew in to answer questions and talk about this important road safety message.
Other emergency services attending included QAS, Crime Prevention, Road Policing Unit and Volunteers in Policing.
The whole event was in partnership with the Hit105 ‘Black Thunders’ who’s support in creating safer communities and raising awareness for road safety has been outstanding.
