Serious traffic crash, Upper Mount Gravatt

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating a serious traffic crash in which a police vehicle was struck on the Pacific Motorway at Upper Mount Gravatt this afternoon.
Initial information indicates around 12.10pm a marked police vehicle had attended a broken down vehicle in the right southbound lane of the motorway between the Klump Road and Logan Road exits.
A short time later, a second police vehicle which was unmarked but had emergency lights activated, was approaching the scene when it was struck from behind by a four wheel drive.
The driver of the second police vehicle, a 50-year-old male senior constable, sustained a severe laceration to his head and other minor injuries. His passenger, a 46-year-old male senior constable, sustained minor injuries.
The 44-year-old male driver of the four wheel drive and his two passengers sustained minor injuries.
All five people were transported to various hospitals.
