ROLE career day at QPS Academy

Students from Milpera State High School (SHS) graced the Queensland Police Service (QPS) Academy on October 31, as part of the ROLE (Respect Ourselves Leadership and Education) program which is a special initiative between the QPS, Queensland Department of Education and Milpera SHS.
The program links students from the school with police recruit mentors and together, they embark on a journey completing activities over a six week period.

Program coordinator Senior Sergeant Jacqui Honeywood said one of the activities included in the program was a recent careers day where students in attendance were involved in a number of activities including meeting members of specialist police units, inspecting different types of police vehicles and learning about effective communication through the QPS Liaison Unit.
