Police are investigating following after a man was robbed in Runcorn overnight.
At 10.25pm, a man was walking in the Penarth Street Park in Runcorn when he was approached by three men.
The men made demands for the mans backpack and when he refused, he was chased and assaulted by the trio.
The man then fled and discarded the back pack and the three men were last seen on foot heading towards Penarth Street.
The man received treatment for bruising to his face chest and back.
Investigations are continuing.
