To promote and support Queensland Road Safety Week, West End State School students and families participated in its second ride to school day for the year, this morning.
Police from West End Station were on hand to again to help provide a safe riding environment for the students and their supporters as they made their way along picturesque Riverside Drive and into the bustling urban streets around West End State School to start their day.
School Principal Kim Namara said the activity is a term highlight for the students who love having the special attention from their local police officers keeping them safe riding on the roads.
West End Officer in Charge Senior Sergeant Geoff Douglas said it was encouraging to see the community support of the students, with many locals and business owners actually cheering the students on as they rode by.
