Rape charge, Brisbane

A 37-year-old Aspley man has been charged following investigations into the alleged rape of a teenage girl who was using a ride sharing service in Brisbane last week.
Detectives will allege the man was the driver of a ride sharing vehicle when the incident occurred in Brisbane’s south around 8.30pm on July 7.
The man has been charged with one count of rape and will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.
The matter is unrelated to a similar offence which occurred in Brisbane last week.
Detectives believe there could be other victims who have been assaulted in similar circumstances and are appealing for them to report the matter to police.
