Representatives from the Queensland Police Service were honoured to participate at the recent Milpera State High School Exit Ceremony for graduating students.
Milpera State High is a unique school which prides itself as a vibrant educational institution dedicated to the settlement and English language development of recently arrived migrants from backgrounds where a language other than English is spoken.
As part of the ceremony, students presented several heartfelt performances including musical renditions, cultural dancing and story telling.
Sgt Jim Bellos, the Cross Cultural Liaison Officer for the South Brisbane District, was once again invited to present the annual Queensland Police Service Peace Awards to students that have demonstrated respect, courtesy, kindness, cooperation, harmony and compassion to their peers and the wider community. This year’s graduating class saw the highest total number of recipients for the certificates with Student Leader Arian Hedayati being recognised as the winner of this year’s Queensland Police Service Peace Shield.
