Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate those responsible for setting a trap along a popular walking track in Carindale which has harmed a dog.
Between 3pm and 4pm on Monday, September 25 a man was walking his neighbour’s dog, a Cavalier King Charles named Louis (pronounced Louie) along a well-known track on Greendale Way.
The man was heading up the track toward a water tank when Louie became caught in the trap and sustained bruising and soft tissue damage to her paw, requiring veterinary treatment.
Police believe it is possible other traps may be around the area after officers were notified of the incident this morning.
Acting Senior Sergeant Brendan Jorgensen is encouraging anyone walking around the track to be aware of further traps, particularly around the large land parcel behind the unit complex where lots of children play.
