Police urge locals to take vehicle security measures, Stretton and Parkinson

Since the beginning of May, Calamvale Police have received an increase in the number of reports of unlawful entry to motor vehicles in the Stretton and Parkinson areas.
These offences include the stealing of motor vehicles following home burglary offences or targeting parked vehicles where offenders are trying doors and rifling through consoles and glove compartments to obtain money and other valuables.
Calamvale Police are urging members of the community to secure their homes and vehicles even if they are at home.
Everyone is also encouraged to remember to remove any valuables from vehicles and open living spaces, such as wallets, handbags and laptops which may be in plain sight.
To assist in preventing these offences occurring, you are urged to consider:

Closing and locking your doors and garage roller door, even if you are at home;
Locking your car and winding up windows even if parked on the street, in a secure garage or in
