On December 14, and December 15, as part of Operation Wake up, officers from the Sunnybank Police Beat joined together with Hoyts Sunnybank to educate community members about personal safety and the road rules.
Police provided information and advice to the public about the current road rules and the new legislation regarding mobile phones offences which will come into effect in February 2020.
Members of the public participated in a road rules quiz and successful contestants were rewarded with free ice cream from Ben and Jerry’s.
Senior Constable Louise Newbould said that the Pop-Up Event was well received and enjoyed by all those who stopped to chat.
“These opportunities to engage will continue to make our communities we serve safer,” Senior Constable Newbould said.
