Senior Police Liaison Officer Doug Peachey has been an integral part of the South Brisbane District Police Liaison Unit for over 15 years and has been a strong advocate of multicultural unity and partnerships across the Region.
He is a man of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and a testament everything great about our community. Recently, PLO Peachey proudly stood alongside his colleagues from across the Service at a special ceremony acknowledging dedication and service to the job.
PLO Peachey said he believes that his experiences and employment history has been critical in allowing him to support those in need.
“I truly enjoy the job and was because I enjoyed helping people,” PLO Peachey said.
Doug’s story begins in 1961 in the township of Charter Towers. His father being a Jirandali man and his mother being a Muralag woman of Thursday Island.
