The South Brisbane Police Muslim Youth Program was started in August 2018 and youth from the program recently participated in a three day leadership and team building camp held on the Sunshine Coast.
Police officers from Morningside Child Protection and Investigation Unit (CPIU), Mount Gravatt and Inala PCYC’s and supporting members actively participated with the youth members in a variety of team building and leadership activities including high ropes, leadership events, obstacle courses and the giant flying fox.
It was great to see the youth helping police officers scale the high log!
The 12 week program aims to build positive relationships between police and youth.
The structured program aims at building new life skills, focusing on self esteem, personal development and team work.
