Police issue warning about selling goods online, South Brisbane

Police are urging members of the public to exercise caution when selling products via social media or sales websites in the South Brisbane area, particularly iPhones.

The warning comes after a series of stealing from person offences where a potential buyer will arrange to meet with the seller of the iPhone and upon doing so request to see the phone before immediately running off.

Police are encouraging anyone that is selling any products online to use caution when dealing with potential buyers. Asking for identification before handing over any products or meeting in a secure public place can decrease the chances of someone potentially becoming a victim of these crimes.

Police are urging anyone who may have any information in relation to these matters to contact Police Link on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
