Police attend inaugural CaLD Interagency Exchange and Capability Development Program

The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) Interagency Exchange and Capability Development Program was held yesterday, December 12, at the Brisbane Aviation Operations Centre at the Brisbane Airport.
The program was designed to bring together participants from Australian Federal Police (AFP), Queensland Police Service (QPS) and Australian Border Force (ABF) jurisdictions to complement the delivery of services for Commonwealth and State police and to partner with airport stakeholders in Queensland.
The first phase of the program focused on the exchange of knowledge and cross-cultural skills between frontline law enforcement and community police liaison officers specifically within the Operations Brisbane Aviation environment. It also comprised of both theoretical and practical elements delivered through a combination of classroom-based information sessions and discussions, and AFP aviation patrol activities.
The program included presentations by AFP Acting Sergeant Steve Illidge, QPS Acting Senior Sergeant Jim Bellos and QPS Senior Police Liaison Officer Purdy Huanh.
