On Thursday December 12, police from the South Brisbane Crime Prevention Unit were joined by Police Liaison Officers (PLO) to attend both Garden City and Sunnybank Plaza shopping centres to speak with members of the community about personal safety as well and home and vehicle security.
Police spoke to many members of the community about the importance of being aware of your surroundings when out and about, and being vigilant about your property and personal security.
There was plenty of fun and it was a great time of year to speak to both parents and children now that school is out and everyone is about to embark on their holidays.
Please ensure your homes are secured and you have arranged someone to collect your mail and keep an eye on your house, and remember to report and suspicious vehicles or behaviour to police.
