South Brisbane District Operation Wake Up was launched recently by Acting Chief Superintendent Virginia Nelson to enhance road safety and to reduce the road toll within our community.
The operation not only focuses on high visibility proactive policing on our roads, but also on educating the community on key aspects of safety including the fatal five.
Police from Morningside Station on Wednesday night worked with key road safety stakeholders at a local bar in Bulimba, to drive home the message of ‘If you plan to drink, don’t drive’ through the educational QPS initiative Drink Rite.
Local Queensland MP the Honourable Di Farmer attended the night to support stakeholders in reinforcing road safety, and keeping our community safe.
