Police across South Brisbane District were again out and about in shopping centres across the district on Thursday July 25, focusing on public safety and engaging with the community over personal safety awareness and education.
Last Thursday night saw the final roll out of the month long operation targeting crime across South Brisbane.
With collective efforts from a number of general duties and specialist units such as tactical crime squad, mounted unit, crime prevention, road policing unit and some collaborative partnerships with our shopping centre precincts, we were able to achieve some pretty impressive results in terms of keeping our community safe.
The operation resulted in:
54 offenders arrested on 132 charges;
66 traffic infringement notices issued;
782 Roadside Breath Tests conducted;
35 calls for service responded to; and
40 Translink warnings issued.
