Officers hit the beat at Sunnybank

Officers from across the South Brisbane Police District were on hand to provide timely personal and home safety information to patrons across several shopping precincts around Sunnybank over the weekend including Market Square, Sunny Park and Sunnybank Plaza.

This operation allowed our officers to mix and mingle with students, locals, tourists and families enjoying the start of the Winter school holiday break.
Acting Sergeant Sarah Ellis from the Crime Prevention Unit said it was important for police to proactively respond to any concerns raised by the community we serve.
“The information we are providing will help everyone to stay alert and stay safe,” Acting Sergeant Ellis said.
In addition to handing out invaluable resources, officers were also providing advice to patrons on a number of topics including cyber safety, pedestrian safety and the best ways to contact police when needed.
Police Liaison Officers were also available to support those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Communities.
