On Wednesday members from the Carina police station were invited to attend the Little Wishes Early Learning Centre in Carina to meet the children and staff.
This was a valuable opportunity for police to meet with those tiny members of our society and engage with them in surroundings that were comfortable to them.
Police addressed the eager crowd and were able to get out some road safety messages before the cavalcade or random questions, general statements and inaudible messages erupted from the kids.
Then it was time to explore the police car.
For many of the children it was the first ever exposure to a police car at such close quarters.
Tears and tantrums were set aside as the eager youngsters climbed over every inch of the police car and almost drained the battery by activating the emergency lights.
