The South Brisbane District has committed to a new operation targeting domestic violence.
Operation Wake Up domestic violence in a coordinated district wide approach encompassing four patrol groups.
This operation aims to engage in meaningful contact with the community, decrease follow up times on reported DV incidents, increase clear up rates of complaints of DV, enhance the awareness of this issue in the community and show support for those affected by this issue.
This operation will consist of a number of phases and the first is that of community contact.
Police will be partnering with McDonald’s restaurants across the district to provide a safe environment to speak with police about this issue.
The relaxed environment that will be created will be similar to that of the ‘coffee with a cop’ meetings, and police will arrange for private conversations to take place in a safe area or through further appointment.
Police from many areas will be on hand
