After serving the people of Queensland for just under 36 years, Inspector Jo-Anne Henderson has decided to call it a day to be with those she holds most dear, her family. Inspector Henderson commenced her career with the Queensland Police Service (QPS) in 1980 as a Stenographer/Administrative Assistant at the Ipswich Police Station.
In 1988, Inspector Henderson took a short break from the QPS to undertake tertiary studies before returning in 1989 as an Administrative Assistant at Noosa Police Station.
On 23 July 1990, Inspector Henderson commenced at the Queensland Police Service Academy as a Probationary Constable and was sworn in as a Constable on 1 February 1991.
Inspector Henderson spent the first three years as a police officer on the Sunshine Coast where, in 1993, Inspector Henderson and her husband of 37 years, Peter, welcomed their daughter, Jessica. In 1994 the family moved to Brisbane after Inspector Henderson was promoted to Senior
