On Thursday May 24, Inala Station joined a network of stations in officially adorning the Look to the Stars artwork and acknowledgement plaque.
As part of a program, local officers were joined by Indigenous Elders to unveil the special plaque which plays homage to the history and contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in the community, as well as recognising the vital work they do in keeping communities safe.
Opening up the ceremony was Uncle Albert Holt.
In his Welcome to Country, Uncle Holt expressed his heartfelt gratitude to local police and commended the value of the Look to the Stars initiative for its role it in strengthening the relationship between the Service and the Indigenous community.
As master of ceremonies, Acting Inspector Bettina Wilson spoke on the importance of reconciliation for the emerging community leaders present.
