On Friday, March 29, local residents attending Fairfield Gardens Shopping Centre had the opportunity to discuss home and vehicle security at a pop-up stand within the shopping area.
Police from Annerley, South Brisbane District Crime Prevention, and Volunteers in Policing spoke to residents about their home security and provided them with a security checklist to take home and review their security.
The checklist is designed to enable residents to identify any potential risks and to ensure security measures are properly maintained and in good working order.
Police also reminded residents to keep their vehicles locked and secured, and to remove all valuables and personal documents from within the vehicle when unattended.
By reviewing security around the home on a regular basis faults can be identified and repaired reducing the likelihood of becoming a victim of crime.
