Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating a fatal, four-vehicle traffic crash at Burbank early this morning.
Preliminary inquiries indicate at 6.30am, two vehicles travelling eastbound on Mount Cotton Road were involved in a traffic incident when one of the vehicles crashed into the rear of the other.
As a result, two vehicles travelling westbound have collided with the vehicles involved in the crash.
The male driver, and sole occupant of the one of the eastbound vehicles, a 28-year-old man, suffered life-threatening injuries and passed away at the scene.
Four people involved in the incident were transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to minor injuries.
Police are appealing for anyone who was travelling in the area at the time to contact them. Anyone with relevant dash cam vision is also asked to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.
