In the last seven days, there have been a number of break-ins and vehicle stealing in Sunnybank, Coopers Plains, Eight Mile Plains, Macgregor and neighbouring suburbs.
Offender/s have forcibly opened the doors, windows and garage doors to gain entry to a dwelling. Some occurred while residents were asleep at night, some occurred while residents were out during the day.
Vehicle registration plates were also stolen from parked vehicles in a street, driveway or carpark areas.
Police urge people to review their home and vehicle security. Simple home security measures like:
Lock your doors using keys (do not leave you keys on your lock);
Make sure your garage door is fully closed before and leaving the garage;
Enable your security alarms if you have already installed them;
Check your windows and fly screen if they are secured. Make sure they cannot be easily removed from its frame;
Do not leave your valuables or keys in a plain sight;
