On Saturday, December 1, police from South Brisbane Crime Prevention Unit attended Rochedale Estate and spoke to residents about their security measures and concerns.
Traffic related issues were also discussed with the residents who were informed of the current road safety initiative, Operation Wake Up.
Operation Wake Up launched on November 13 and is a South Brisbane Police District targeted approach to reduce fatal and serious crashes through proactive traffic enforcement and community engagement and education.
Upon our visit, we had the pleasure of meeting a little boy named Darren, who was very excited to meet a police officer!
Darren even showed us how to mimic the police vehicle siren!
Darren’s dad told police that it was his third birthday!. Happy Birthday Darren!
