During the school holiday period, officers from Carina Station attended the Carina PCYC vacation care program on Friday July 5, to deliver a Road Safety Awareness campaign message to around 30 children aged between six and 12.
Audience participation was quick from the start, keeping Acting Sergeant Kylie Baker on her toes.

The children had great responses to the questions asked of them and were able to come up with four of the five, Fatal Five contributing factors to traffic incidents (speed, drink and drug driving, fatigue, distraction and seat belts).
The big question of the day was ‘when can a kid sit in the front seat?’
Whilst the children thought the response of seven was great, they went on to understand the recommendation of being 12-years-old is safer given the dangers of injury to children when airbags deploy in traffic crashes.
