Police have charged two people after an allegedly stolen vehicle was involved in a serious traffic crash near Coolbie on December 22.
It will be alleged that around 5.30am, a stolen Holden Cruze and a stolen Mitsubishi Challenger were travelling southbound on the Bruce Highway.
The Cruze allegedly passed another vehicle (a Toyota Kluger) at high speed, and as the Challenger went to follow suit, it narrowly avoided a head-on crash with an oncoming truck.
The Challenger then collided with the rear left-hand side of the Kluger, forcing it into the northbound lane and into a drain before it rolled a number of times.
The Challenger also rolled multiple times on the southern side of the highway.
The Cruze returned to the scene to pick up the two uninjured occupants of the Challenger before allegedly speeding off again towards Townsville.
