During the week the Carina Police Station played host to two international police officers with a keen interest in community engagement.
The officers were both Inspectors in the Hong Kong Police Service and were in Brisbane as part of an international police exchange program. Inspector Hon-kwan ‘Michael’ Lau and Inspector Chi Ying ‘Karina’ Kong.
Both Michael and Karina had expressed an interest in seeing community engagement first hand and were keen to experience this type of engagement at a local level.
As part of their community engagement activities both officers were met with a very warm welcome at the Carina Men’s Shed by their ever present and faithful servant Rex Gelfius.
Rex provided an in depth commentary on the inner workings of the Carina Men’s Shed and the associated benefits that the community group provides to its members and the local community.
