Be aware of tax scams

The tax scam is still happening and still catching people unawares. Here is some information and tips that may be of use.
What is it?
People will receive a message a computer generated message saying to call a number or else an arrest warrant will be issued.
When they call the number the “scammer” then has the number and will bombard it with threats of arrest from the Taxation Office or similar until you pay some money. They will then ask for more and so the scam continues.
For the record:
Police will not contact you via a voicemail or pre-recorded message to issue an arrest warrant.
The Tax Office will not threaten to arrest you if you don’t pay money immediately or alternatively buy iTunes cards for them.
