Attempted car theft, Algester

A man has been charged after a woman was forced to jump in front of her vehicle to prevent it from allegedly being stolen with her children inside at Algester.
It will be alleged on December 7 around 12pm a man and woman drove their four-wheel-drive to a school and parked on Algester Road to make a delivery.
The couple left their three young children in their car seats with the air-conditioning running while they went around to the rear door of the vehicle.
A man who had been standing at a nearby bus stop then allegedly approached the car, jumped into the driver’s seat and locked all of the doors before revving the engine in an attempt to drive away.
The 34-year-old woman immediately ran to the front of the vehicle and stood in front in an attempt to stop him.
The man then fled the vehicle and ran through a nearby park.
