Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Fairfield this morning.
At about 1.30am, a man armed with a knife entered the Fairfield Road shop and attempted to gain access to the cash register.
The man left the store a short time later on foot after he failed to open the register.
No property was taken and no one was injured during the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
