Police are investigating after a security officer at an Inala business was threatened with a knife and assaulted this evening.
Around 5.40pm a woman entered the store on Skylark Street, took food items and attempted to leave without paying for them.
A 38-year-old male security guard followed the woman out of the shop and challenged her, demanding payment for the items before another man approached the pair and produced a knife.
The man threatened the security guard with the weapon while the woman punched the victim several times.
The pair then fled the scene and a knife was later located nearby by police.
The security guard was not seriously injured as a result of the incident.
Investigations are continuing.
