A team of local Imams have once again claimed victory against the law enforcement officers and politicians at the Bosnian Islamic Centre’s (BIC) at the annual futsal challenge tournament on Sunday, November 10.
The victory was a double celebration for the team, as the event also celebrated the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the iconic place of worship on Logan Road, Eight Mile Plains.
For the first time in the tournaments history, the team of local politicians (lead by the Member for Stretton Mr Duncan Pegg, MP) not only received points but they managed to score six goals.
Overall the politicians finished third, much to the delight of the local State Member who said that the team gelled well in the hot conditions and were excited to not to take away the spoon this year.
However as is customary, the wooden spoon was presented to the team which finished in last place.
