Mary Immaculate and St John Fisher Temporarily Closed
One of the Fathers has tested positive for Covid today Wednesday 12 January. His symptoms are mild and he is currently isolating from the rest of the community.
Queensland Health deems a person infectious two days before they show symptoms. During this window, Father was in St John Fisher Church on Sunday 9 January for the 8:30am Mass, and Mary Immaculate Church at 10:00am Mass and the 6:00pm Mass. He was in Mary Immaculate Church on Monday 10 January from 6:45pm. Father was not in either church on Tuesday 11 January. Queensland Health are no longer contact tracing casual contacts. If you were at Mary Immaculate Church or St John Fisher Church at these times, Queensland Health advises you to monitor your health and get tested if you feel unwell. There are no other requirements.

New Years Eve | Solemn Benediction | Fri 31 Dec | 5:00pm
End the year by thanking God for all the benefits he has bestowed on us this year by joining us for Solemn Benediction. A plenary indulgence is available to the faithful who assist at the singing of the great thanksgiving prayer of the Church, the Te Deum, which will take place during Benediction.

Oratory Novena | Immaculate Conception
Join the Oratory Community for our Evening Prayers as we begin a Novena in preparation for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Monday 29 November to Tuesday 7 December 6:00pm to 6:30pm Mary Immaculate Church.
Join us for a meditation on Mary, silent prayer, and the novena prayers.
On Sunday 5 December prayers are recited at 5:00pm Vespers

Vallicella Dinner and Dance 2021
This year was our biggest Vallicella Dinner and Dance yet with 340 people attending. It was a great evening with dinner, drinks, beautiful views of the river, and for the adventurous, some dancing! We would like to thank all those for attending and contributing to our main fundraiser event.

All Saints Day | Relics
On the Feast of All Saints we recall all the blessed in heaven. On this day we were able to put onto the altar several First Class Relics including: St Stephen Protomartyr; St Agnes and St Maria Goretti Virgin Martyrs; St Ambrose, St Basil, and St John of the Cross Doctors; St Pius X, St Philip Neri and St John Henry Newman Confessors. May all the Saints intercede for us.

The young women of Flores Teresianes had a great night of discussion, wine, good food, chats and sisterhood! During the evening they had a talk on “thinking with the Church.” Keep an eye out for some exciting end of year events yet to come. Ordination | Fr Conor
We recently celebrated the ordination of Fr Conor to the priesthood by His Grace Archbishop Mark Coleridge, the first priestly ordination for the Brisbane Oratory in Formation. Fr Conor then celebrated his first Solemn Mass the next day in our church. Since we couldn’t have an “open church” for the Ordination, on Sunday September 19 we had cake and refreshments after the High Mass, especially for those who were unable to be present at the Ordination itself.
We are sincerely grateful to His Grace, and all the many people who contributed in so many ways to the Ordination celebrations. We are particularly grateful for your prayers for Father as he prepared for ordination, and for all the kindness you have shown in your well wishes and gifts to the newly ordained.
