Welcome to new converts
We are blessed to have received Mike, Claire, and Morné into the Catholic Church who also received Confirmation and First Holy Communion. They have been preparing for some time with our Catholic Enquiry Group. We praise God as they enter the Catholic Church.

Good Friday
In accordance with Catholic tradition, on Good Friday, the lights in the church remained off. The Liturgy began at 3:00pm and as the Liturgy progressed the Church became darker and darker. The lights would not be lit again until the Ceremony of Light at the Easter Vigil. This was the sun coming through the west rose window, lighting up the sanctuary at the time for Holy Communion. Not much later, the commemoration of the Passion finished, and the church was plunged into darkness as we awaited the celebration of the Resurrection.

Holy Week Schedule 2022
Holy Week is the most sacred time of the Church year when we commemorate in three parts the Last Supper, the Institution of the Eucharist and the Priesthood on Maundy Thursday; The Passion and death of Christ on Good Friday; then we gather in evening of Holy Saturday to keep vigil before celebrating the resurrection on Sunday. It is a good and holy thing to do our best to make these days be times of prayer and to participate in the holy mysteries.

Consecration of Russia and Ukraine
The Holy Father, Pope Francis, has invited all Bishops and priests to unite with him to consecrate Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The laity are also being encouraged to unite their prayers for this intention.
In the apparition of 13 July 1917 in Fatima, Our Lady asked for the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart and the communion of reparation on the First Saturdays, stating that if her requests are headed Russia will be converted and there will be a period of peace in the world.
In light of this, we invite you to the following devotions which will take place for the Consecration of Russia and Ukraine.

400th Anniversary of St Philip’s Canonisation
This year we celebrate the 400th Anniversary of the canonisation of St Philip Neri. He was canonised with St Isidore the Farmer, St Teresa of Avila, St Ignatius of Loyola, and St Francis Xavier in St Peter’s Basilica by Pope Gregory XV in 1622. Celebrations were held in the universal Church throughout the world as they continue to be held today. To celebrate we held a Sung Votive Mass to St Philip Neri to mark the anniversary on Saturday 12 March followed by exposition of his relic.

Frassati Corporal Works of Mercy
The men of Frassati Brisbane organise and encourage young adults to minister to the homeless in the city. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati is well known for bringing the love of Christ to the poor. This morning Fr Conor gave them a blessing before they head out after morning Mass. Let us pray the Holy Spirit will guide them and inspire those they meet.
