Police Liaison Officers joined their counterparts from across the South Brisbane Police District to celebrate the end of Ramadan 2019 at the Islamic College of Brisbane, Karawatha, last week.
Despite the very brisk weather on the day, thousands of locals congregated at the iconic school to pray and officially celebrate the end of this auspicious time in the Islamic calendar.
Officers under the guidance of Acting Superintendent Tim Partrige and Officer in Charge of Calamvale Station, Senior Sergeant Stephen Gough, helped coordinate the safety of all attendees and assisted with the flow of traffic from the Compton and Acacia Road.
Haj. Sultan Deen, Chair of the Muslim Queensland Police Reference Group, said it was fantastic to see the police lending their support to help the community during the special occasion.
