A 19-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle crash at Aspley this morning.
Just after midnight, Police were called to the intersection of Gympie Road and Webster Road.
It is believed the Kelvin Grove man was the driver of a Toyota Celica sedan, when it collided with a truck.
The 55-year-old driver of the truck was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating the cause of the crash.

On Tuesday, August 27, Inspector Seia Akhavan from Queensland Police Service (QPS) Media and Public Affairs Group hosted a Chinese media morning tea in Police Headquarters.
Various Chinese media representatives from local newspapers, radio and new social medias attended the event.
Inspector Akhavan introduced the QPS Media and Public Affairs Group and explained how the QPS media team used myPolice and other social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to engage with community members about crime and community news.

He encouraged media representatives who attended to subscribe and follow all kinds of QPS social media platforms to stay up to date with news and events.

Police are seeking public assistance to find a man who may be able to assist in relation to a robbery in Runcorn on August 29.
Around 12.50pm a woman was approached by the man in Woorabinda Street who stole her handbag containing a large sum of cash.
The man ran along Warrigal Road into the carpark of Runcorn Plaza and was last seen in Kalanda Street.
He is described as approximately 180cm tall, medium build with dark black short curly hair shaved on the sides, a beard and wearing a blue shirt and dark coloured pants.
Police are yet to locate the man and appealing to the public to provide any information which may assist in the investigation.

Detectives are investigating a suspicious house fire in Robertson earlier this evening.
Police were called to an address on Faringdon Street, around 5:30pm following reports of smoke coming from a home.
Emergency services attended the fire however the house was fully engulfed and received significant damage to the structure and roof.
No on was home at the time of the fire.
A crime scene has been declared with fire investigators and forensic officers expected to commence investigations tomorrow.
Anyone with CCTV or dash cam vision from the area is urged to contact police.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel at Durack this morning.
At 2.30am a man approached the main entrance doors and pointed a firearm at a man at the door.
Another man inside the hotel complied with the demands and handed a sum of cash to the armed man who left the area towards King Avenue.
The man was wearing dark clothing and black balaclava
Officers patrolled the surrounding area but were unable to locate the man.
Investigations into the matter are continuing.

Community, faith, cultural and religious leaders stood alongside Queensland Police Service representatives today at the Salvation Army Hall in Calamvale for the fourth annual Stretton Multicultural Awards.

The event, as part of Queensland Multicultural Month recognises, celebrates and acknowledges the contribution of local service providers, individuals, not for profit organisations and cultural associations who make a difference across the diverse and multicultural electorate.
QPS members received a number of awards, which were presented by state and federal members and local sporting legend, Romelda Aiken from the Queensland Firebirds.

South Brisbane Districts Cross Cultural Liaison Officer Sergeant Jim Bellos said it was an honour to once again, be recognised for the work that police do in this community.
“Our Police Liaison Officers and sworn officers pride themselves on proactive engagement and we are fortunate to live and work in a community that truly reflects everything that is great about Queensland,” Sergeant Bellos.

That’s a wrap!
Today was the last day of Queensland Police Safety Week and it was wrapped up in style at Westfield Garden City with the Black Thunders.
The Road Policing Unit, Dog Squad, Mount Gravatt general duties, Crime Prevention Unit and Volunteers in Policing along with Westfield Garden City staff were on hand to mingle with the community and provide road safety information, anti-theft one-way screws for number plates and resources plus a free juice!
This week as been jam packed with a variety of community events, school visits, Coffee with a Cop events, POLAIR visits and entertainment to spread the road safety message throughout Queensland.

Senior Sergeant Dave Stafford said police from South Brisbane have thoroughly enjoyed a busy week of community interaction and support around the Fatal Five messages.
“We continue to seek innovative and dynamic ways of engaging with the community over matters such as road safety,” Senior Sergeant Stafford said.

The Islamic College of Brisbane (ICB) Travel Committee hosted a breakfast to students, staff and the parents at the iconic school as part of Queensland Road Safety Week yesterday.
As part of the unique event, Councillor Kim Marx and ICB Adopt-a-Cop Sergeant Jim Bellos were on hand to share important information on how we can all stay safe on our roads.

Sergeant Bellos said the QPS encourages all drivers to adhere to school speed zones and to follow schools’ drop-off and pick-up procedures.
“As a community, we are all responsible to ensure that our children can get to and from school safely,” Sergeant Bellos said.
Sergeant Bellos also used the event to the present Student of the Month Awards and spoke about the importance of reading for National Book Week.
Thank you to the ICB Travel Committee for hosting such an important event and congratulations to all the students who received the awards.

This week is Queensland Road Safety Week and together with Department of Transport and Main Roads, StreetSmarts, we’re committed to putting road safety first. In 2018, 245 people were killed on Queensland roads.
You’ve heard about the Fatal Five but did you know that one in every nine fatalities in 2018 were a result of distraction?

Mobile phones are a distraction in basically every part of our lives.
While they make our lives so much easier in so many ways, they can be deadly on our roads.
Using a mobile phone is a physical, visual, auditory and cognitive distraction. When you’re travelling at 60km/h, looking down at your phone for a mere two seconds can result in you travelling 33.33 metres without looking at the road. That’s 33.3 metres you have travelled blindly, unaware of your surroundings.
Keep distractions to a minimum so you can ensure safer roads for all road users.
