A 46-year-old Underwood man has been charged for an alleged robbery offence in Kangaroo Point on Thursday, August 27.
Police allege the man had been communicating with another person who was selling an item online.
Police allege that the man met the seller where he snatched the item from them, as well as a mobile phone before running toward a parked vehicle.
The seller was able to call out for help and bystanders assisted to prevent the man from leaving prior to police arriving.
The 46-year-old man was subsequently arrested and charged with one count of robbery.
The man is due to reappear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 21.
Investigations are continuing.
Police urge residents who use online platforms to sell or buy items to exercise caution.

Meet in a safe location of your choice that has CCTV. For example a cafe or a shopping centre and always bring a friend

Police are appealing for anyone who may have any information which could help in the return of a mobility device.
Around 11.30am on Friday, July 10 the wheelchair attachment was stolen from a man who lives with a disability at a hotel on Stanley Street in Woolloongabba.
The piece of equipment valued at $12,000 is understood to be only one of two around the entire metropolitan area.
A 39-year-old Goodna man and 19-year-old man from Woolloongabba have since been charged with one count each of stealing.
They are due to front the Brisbane Magistrates Court in November.
Anyone with further information or vision is urged to contact police.
Investigations are continuing.

A Queensland man is in hotel quarantine and is under investigation following an alleged border breach.
Police will allege the man travelled from Victoria (Tullamarine Airport) to Brisbane Airport yesterday morning.
As per the current border restrictions, the man returned from a declared COVID-19 hotspot and was placed into hotel quarantine.
Investigations have revealed that the man not only provided false information on his Queensland border declaration but also allegedly breached quarantine in Victoria.
The Queensland Police Service is committed to ensuring everyone complies with public health directions and will continue to enforce restrictions at the border.

This week is Queensland Road Safety Week and together with the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) we’re committing to putting road safety first.

Police have had increased reports of property crime in and around the suburbs of Seven Hills, Norman Park, Bulimba and Hawthorne involving break and enters of homes and cars.
Now that we are starting to come into the warmer months, it is a great time to review your home security and what you could be doing to improve.
Basic measures such as always ensuring your doors and windows are locked can deter opportunistic offenders.
Also consider:

Ensuring trees and shrubs are trimmed to allow visibility of your home.
Fitting security doors and windows rather than just flyscreens.
Sensor lights are another great option.

Be sure to keep valuable items such as car keys, electronic devices and handbags away and out of sight.

On Wednesday, August 26, officers from Carina Police Station were at an address in Carina for an unrelated matter when they allegedly discovered a quantity of cannabis, drug utensils and hydroponic equipment.
Upon arrival at the residence for the unrelated matter, police noted a shed at the rear of the property with indicators that it was being used for illicit purposes.
As a result, police executed a search warrant where it will be alleged they located a hydroponics set up.
Officers dismantled this set up and removed 23 cannabis plants and further seized 200 grams of cannabis that had allegedly been prepared for sale, along with assorted hydroponic equipment and drug utensils.
A 33-year-old Carina man was charged with drug related offences and issued with a Notice to Appear in the Wynnum Magistrates Court on November 23.

Police have taken action against a Brisbane club following investigations into a reported breach of the COVID-19 Public Health Directions on the weekend.
Investigators from Taskforce Sierra Linnet and the Brisbane Liquor Unit conducted inquiries following reports of a large gathering of people at the Pinkenba premises on Saturday night.
Officers today issued a Penalty Infringement Notice to the president of the club for failing to comply with the Chief Health Officer’s Public Health Direction in the amount of $6,772.
Investigations also established the club did not have a liquor licence and a Liquor Infringement Notice amounting to $2,669 was also issued.
Business operators and patrons are reminded to adhere to public health directions including social distancing measures at all times to reduce the risk of COVID-19 spreading in Queensland.
