Police from the Upper Mount Gravatt Bike Squad were seen today, braving this spectacular spring weather, and avoiding magpies, whilst conducting patrols of the Wishart and Robertson areas, after a spike in property related crime.
Bicycle patrols offer Police a unique opportunity to see things and access areas that normal patrol cars just can’t manage.
Officers on bikes are far more accessible to members of the community, too . Bike Squad Officers patrol parks and bike ways, where members of the pubic will often interact with Police, providing very valuable information on suspicious behaviours and persons in the their neighbourhood.
Give your local Bike Squad members a wave if you see them out and about, and feel free to speak with them about any thing you’ve seen out the ordinary.
